Diane Marie Kearsey

Diane Marie Kearsey (nee Rogozinski), age 75, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024. Devoted wife of the late Lawrence for 36 years. Cherished mother of Daniel (Shala) Kearsey and Robert Kearsey. Adored "Baba" of Luke Kearsey. Treasured sister of Janice (Frank) Tkacz. Beloved aunt of many. Preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Catherine (nee Sot) Rogozinski.Diane was a beacon of joy and warmth in many lives. A proud graduate of St. John Cantius High School and a lifelong member of St. John Cantius church, she was a familiar and cherished presence in the choir, filling the church with her beautiful voice throughout the years. In her younger days, Diane won awards for playing accordion and typing.

She was a devoted fan of Cleveland sports, found joy in solving crosswords from the daily Plain Dealer, and had a passion for reading and listening to oldies, especially The Beatles. Diane's daily routine included watching her beloved "story," Young and the Restless, and playing games like rummy, Super Mario Bros. 3, Wii Sports, and Farmville in which she was unbeatable.

Diane married Lawrence Kearsey in 1972, and before having their own children, they opened their hearts and home to several foster children. Family was everything to Diane, and Sundays were spent at her parents' house, where they would gather for dinner, card games, or simply sitting in the driveway together.

In her professional life, Diane worked for Cardinal and Third Federal Bank before dedicating many years to the Cuyahoga County Public Library, retiring from the Bay Village library in 2011.

Life challenged Diane when she had a stroke in 2011, leading to her move to assisted living. Despite this, her spirit remained unbroken. She greeted everyone with a smile, shared laughter, and held hands with those who visited, offering comfort and companionship.

Diane's love for her family and her enduring positivity will be deeply missed. In her honor, let's strive to live as she did—with love in our hearts and a smile on our faces.
