Vincent A Strazzo

Vince Strazzo, born on December 10,1943 in Cleveland, Ohio, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully, on June 18th, 2024 at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa, and his father, Tony. Vince is survived by his wife, Diane, son Anthony (wife Jen and son Joseph Vincent) daughter, Danielle, and his sister, Patti Cole (husband Don). Their love and shared memories will continue to honor his legacy.

Vince was a leader in the heavy highway construction industry. He dedicated 44 years to the Great Lakes Construction Company, growing the business and the talent. Vince started his career washing vehicles and retired as Vice President of Operations. His work was his passion. His reputation was well known...show up on time, stay late and do good work. Vince did not expect anything of his people that he did not do himself. While 'tough,' he had a generous heart, and cared deeply about the people who worked for him and his community. In recognition of his impact, Great Lakes established the "Vince Strazzo Great Lakes Construction Scholarship Fund" in 2005. This scholarship allows co-ops to further their education while developing a foot hold in the construction industry. Externally, Vince was honored as an inaugural member of the Construction Employers Hall of Fame in October 2016. US Marine Corps veteran.

His roles as husband, father and leader will leave a forever impression on those he touched. Perhaps the role that gave Vince the greatest joy of all was being 'papa' to his grandson, Joseph Vincent. Vince would play for hours with Joe as he was growing up, and as Joe grew Vince passed on his favorite hobby of golf and his joy for the game of baseball.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Holy Family Hospice located at 6707 State Road, Parma Ohio, 44134 in Vince's name.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 24 at 11:00 am at St. Basil Church, 8700 Brecksville Road.  PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
