Samir Mikhail George

Dr. Samir Mikhail George, devoted and loving husband to Nagwa George (nee Selim) for 55 years.  Beloved father of Heidi George Moawad (John) and Michael Samir George (Libby).  Cherished grandfather of Thomas Moawad, Lily Moawad, Anna Moawad, Lucy George, Mary George, and Peter George.  He was the son of Gamila and Mikhail Guirgius, and the youngest of five siblings: Marie, Cecile, Sophie, and Kamal. He deeply cared for his extended family and was the beloved uncle and great-uncle of many. He was a loyal friend who was sincerely loved by his family and community.

He was valedictorian of his high school class and went on to graduate from Ain Shams Medical University in Cairo, Egypt where he was the university boxing champion. Dr. George served his community as a physician for over 40 years. He began his medical career in Egypt, where he ran a busy practice for 12 years. Dr. George and his wife Nagwa immigrated to the United States with their daughter Heidi before having their son Michael. He served as a physician in the US for 30 years, with his dermatology offices in Willoughby and Northfield.

Dr. George was a founding member of St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in Seven Hills, OH.  He was a devout Christian, and loved studying the Bible and faithfully applying the Word of God to his daily life.

He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed closely following Cleveland sports teams.  He loved spending time with his two children and six grandchildren and supporting them in all their endeavors. He was proud of all his family’s interests and pursuits in their sports, school, church, and life. Dr. Samir George will be dearly missed.

FRIENDS MAY PAY RESPECTS AT THE WAKE WHICH WILL BE HELD AT THE DONALD A. FAULHABER FUNERAL HOME, 7915 Broadview Road (at Sprague) on Tuesday, January 30 from 6-8 pm.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON Wednesday, January 31 at 12 noon at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, 2100 E. Pleasant Valley Road, Seven Hills followed by Interment at Riverside Cemetery.  PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH.
