Rosemary Agnes Holobinko

Rosemary Agnes Holobinko age 94, of Broadview Heights, Ohio passed away peacefully and entered into heaven as an angel on August 19, 2021. Daughter of Thomas and Mary (Sadie) Salwan. Beloved wife of 65 years to Paul Holobinko (deceased). Loving mother of Janet, Paul David and George (Lynn Bucarich). Cherished grandmother of Benjamin and Andrew. Dearest sister of the following deceased: Thelma (Frank) Kilfoyle, Joseph (Lillian) Salwan and twin sister, Roseagnes (Robert) Bastian. Aunt to many loving nieces and nephews.

Rosemary graduated from John Hay High School. She was a talented artist and later studied accounting at Cleveland College. Rosemary worked as the lead secretary at Decca Records in Cleveland for 14 years beginning in 1945. She was a teacher’s assistant at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School for 20+ years. Rosemary volunteered as a RedCoat at Playhouse Square for many years. She was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society at Church of the Assumption. Rosemary volunteered at fish fries and made pierogi, cabbage, and noodles from scratch at Church of the Assumption for years. Rosemary’s culinary genius spanned the globe, from pierogi, kibbeh, to creatively combining ethnic delights from many cultures. She loved to nourish people in body and spirit. Rosemary had a green thumb and a passion for gardening. She loved knitting, making afghans, sweaters and other apparel for her family and friends. Rosemary loved traveling the world.  But most of all, Rosemary’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Family meant everything to her. Rosemary will be greatly missed.

Visitation on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at FAULHABER FUNERAL HOME, 7915 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, Ohio 44147. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Basil The Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, OH 44141.  Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
