Robert A Dobosz

Robert Anthony Dobosz, 92, of Seven Hills, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

Robert was born to Alex and Stella Dobosz on May 31, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from East Tech High School and enlisted in the Navy in 1943. On July 3, 1948 he married Viola Masters. Together they raised two children.

He leaves as his legacy, two children: Patricia (Philip) Weiker of Marblehead, Ohio and Thomas Dobosz of Seven Hills, Ohio; two grandchildren: Christina (Kristopher) Myers and Anthony (Heather) Weiker; as well as seven great-grandchildren: Kathyrn, William, Allison and Andrew Myers and Benjamin, Henry and Elizabeth Weiker. Robert relished hearing about the many travels and daily joys of his family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Viola; his sister, Lennie (Harry) Walker; and his parents.

As a member of the “Greatest Generation”, Robert enlisted in the Navy during WWII. His years of service fueled a lifelong passion for aviation and WWII aircraft. He was honored to serve and a very proud grandfather when he was the one to give his grandson, Anthony, his first salute upon Commissioning as a Naval Officer in 2009.

The family is very grateful for all the support and services provided by the Veterans Administration over the years, as well as Holy Family Hospice for his care through his last days. Their support and the devoted care of his son, Tom, fulfilled Robert’s desire to remain at home as much as possible. We are thankful for the support of family and friends, which has been a remarkable blessing to us all.

Robert passed away a mere five months after the love-of-his-life, Viola, departed this life in November. They would have celebrated their 70 ^th Wedding Anniversary this summer on July 3 ^rd . They will be interred together at a graveside Memorial Service at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio on June 26, 2018.
