Rex Sheldon Harper, age 68, passed away July 19, in Brecksville, Ohio due to pancreatic cancer. He was born to Sheldon and Juanita Harper (deceased), on November 25, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio. Rex was an awesome brother and brother-in-law to Shelley Hussey and Neil Ziegman, Daniel Harper and Nancy Helmrich, and Matthew and Shirley Harper; loving and playful uncle to Bryan and Garett Harper, James Hussey and Mary Beth (Hussey) and John Bryant, Angela (Harper) and Matt Gruver, and Matthew and Steven Harper. He also leaves behind his life-long friend and significant other Jan Sixt, as well as his fur baby Maggie. Rex was a graduate of Brecksville High School’s class of ’67, and a proud Florida Gator and earned his MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College. Rex had a distinguished military career, serving in South Korea, the Army Reserves and National Guard. His career in the insurance and financial planning industry spanned over 42 years; wherein he attained numerous awards and merits. Rex was active in Brecksville Little Theater, Brecksville Kiwanis, the Masonic Order, and was a volunteer driver for Brecksville residents in need.
