Raymond G. Smiley

Raymond Smiley, age 82, of Brecksville, Ohio passed away March 16, 2022, after battling various illnesses.

Ray was born in September 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio. Ray graduated from Brecksville-Broadview Hts High School and attended Fenn College. He then met the love of his life, Linda, who he has been married to for 59 year this year.

Ray was in the Army National Guard, where he served for 6 years. He obtained the status of Sergeant, and “took no shit from anyone!” He lived by that motto the rest of his life.

Ray worked for a family owned business for 56 years, and during that time he took ownership before retiring in 2019.

Ray loved fishing, boating, hunting with his beagles, was an avid history buff, and loved collecting toys and models. He was always a kid at heart! And when shopping would get lost in the toy department.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, Linda (nee Henneman), of Brecksville; 3 beautiful daughters - Deborah Gibson (David), Elaine Kissel (Jeff Manco), Laura Oros (Chris); 7 grandchildren - Travis Gibson (Kelsey), Courtney Kissel, Tiffany Schultz (Jared), Caitlyn Kissel, Adam Oros, Nicholas Oros, Joshua Oros. One great-grandson, Luke Gibson (his “Big Guy!”)

Visitation will be held at Faulhaber Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 4 pm - 8 pm.

Funeral services will be on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Faulhaber at 10 am with Father Matt Jordan from St. Basil the Great.

Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery immediately following the services.
