Nancy Mattes

Nancy Mattes (nee Dolezal), age 68, a lifelong resident of North Royalton, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2018 with her family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of Stephen for 45 years; dear mother of Heather Novak (James) and Stephen (Rebecca); loving grandmother of Steven, Johnny, Haylee, Hannah, and Abigail; cherished daughter of Leland (deceased) and Winifred Dolezal; dear sister of Warren Dolezal (Heidi) and Roy Dolezal (Judy); aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Nancy was a graduate of North Royalton High School (1968), earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Baldwin Wallace College (1972) and a Master’s Degree from Kent State University (1998). She was a teacher at North Royalton Middle School for many years.  Friends may call at the DONALD A. FAULHABER FUNERAL HOME, 7915 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights (at Sprague) on Sunday, July 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Monday, July 16 from 5-8 PM. Private interment North Royalton Cemetery.Memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held Tuesday, July 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Granger United Methodist Church, 1235 Granger Rd, Medina, OH 44256 followed by a lunch reception.  Donations may be made to the North Royalton Educational Foundation, 6579 Royalton Road, North Royalton, Ohio 44133, placing “Nancy Mattes Scholarship” in the memo line.
