Nancy A. Hartman

On the morning of July 10, 2023, Nancy passed away peacefully at home, comforted by family members and assisted by Holy Family Hospice.  She was 92.

Preceded in death by her husband, Edwin A. Hartman; parents John and Sarah Bird; brother, Robert Bird; and son, David “H” Hartman.

Dear mother of Neal Hartman (Michael) of Boston, Carol Halter (John) of Akron, and Donald Hartman (Rebecca) of Richfield.

Loving grandmother of Jason Kariotis (Jennifer) of FL, Adam Kariotis of FL, and Stephen Halter of WA.

Great-grandmother of Ashton and Wyatt Kariotis.

Also survived by her dear friend and sister-in-law Lenore Smith (James-deceased), nephew, James Smith, Jr. (Linda-deceased), nieces, Tammie Smith, Wendy Pollarine-Matheny (Dave), Becky Bird, and Lisa Brownell.

She leaves behind many great nieces and nephews and cherished lifelong friends.

Nancy was a member of Amvets Auxiliary Post 176 and was also an Eastern Star.

After retirement from Revere Local School District as a bus driver and aide, Nancy worked part time at Richfield Senior Center.  She also loved to volunteer at Camp Quality, and CASA for children, which she enjoyed immensely.  With a wonderful sense of curiosity, she enjoyed whale watching, traveling, and birding.  Her creative talents led her to painting, dancing, and ceramics.  Nancy was also known for her one-liners and for being a little spicy at times.

A celebration of life will be held at Richfield United Church of Christ, 4340 W. Streetsboro Road, Richfield, Ohio 44286 on Monday, July 17 at 11:00 am.  Interment private.
