Nabil Fahim Gabriel

NABIL FAHIM GABRIEL, 82, of Westlake, OH, went home to be with the Lord on October 31, 2021. He joins his wife Cameelia Gabriel (nee Sidarous).  He is survived by his daughters Mary (Adam) Knudson and Julie (Scott) Jackson and beloved grandchildren Jonas, Hunter, Sophie, Hannah, and Holden. Nabil is the son of late Fahim and Liza Gabriel.   He is the loving brother to Samy Gabriel and the late Amal Gabriel and a loving friend to many.

Nabil was born in Damanhur Egypt.  Nabil and Cameelia immigrated to the United States in 1970 and were founding members of St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church. His love of the Cleveland congregation and dedication to the local church and community was apparent throughout his life by virtue of his efforts in support of St. Mark Church.  He served as the church treasurer and board member for decades.  He worked to help found the St. Mark Foundation for Coptic History Studies in order to promote the study of the Coptic Church through various symposiums, conferences and publications.

Nabil had a successful career in healthcare administration and retired from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 2012.  He worked at many hospitals throughout the Greater Cleveland area, was a partner at a management and consulting firm and served as an auditor for Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, 2100 E. Pleasant Valley Road, Seven Hills, 44131 or Sts. Peter & George Coptic Orthodox Church, 25800 Hilliard Blvd, Westlake, Ohio 44145.  Services will be held on Wednesday, November 3 at 12 noon at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church.  Interment Riverside Cemetery.
