Monica M. Mitchell

Monica Marie (Musial) Mitchell of Richfield, Ohio, beloved mother of 2, world traveler, and all around happy person passed away on Sunday, January 9th 2022.  She was just shy of her goal of her 80th year of life, dying only a few days after her 79th birthday.

Monica was adored by everyone who knew her.  Her never ending smile and joking personality made everyone feel their best.  She was born in Buffalo, New York to Martin and Clara Musial as the younger sister to Connie.  In college she met Milton Kenneth Mitchell of Panana, New York, and she married "Ken" and settled in Michigan.  She raised two sons, Matthew and Michael across the North and South American continents.  Her smile was infectious and she always found joy and happiness in everything. Constantly using jokes and one liners to make everyone smile, including the final hours in the hospital where she said "owww" well before the needle was even close.

She enjoyed the sun, for the occasional sun burn.  She also loved the fall leaves on the ground for driving the tractor around and "grring" (mowing) them up.  She especially enjoyed  trips to casinos that earned her the affectionate name Gambling Granny to her many grand children.

Monica passed away in the company of her youngest son, Mike in the Mary Mount  hospital near Garfield, Ohio.   Her heart was not as strong as it once was but her love of everyone never dwindled.

Monica was preceded by her husband's "Ken" death on 8/7/2005 at Cleveland Clinic near Downtown.  She is survived and lovingly remembered by her sister Connie of Buffalo New York, her 2 sons Michael Mitchell of Holland Michigan, and Matthew Mitchell out sailing the world.  The loss of Monica is mourned by her 4 grand children: Preston, Clara, Will, and Haddie of Holland Michigan.

She will be dearly missed by all.
