George “Huck” Granakis

Huck went home to be with the Lord peacefully on February 8, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was the dearly beloved husband of Sherri for 59 years and father of Eric, Ty (Kristen) Cary (Sherri Cannavino) and Amy (Ted Blaicher); grandfather of Terin Moreau-Smith and Shaun Granakis. Loving brother of Holly Feckner (Lenny), Mark Granakis (Denise), and Heather Persem (deceased); brother-In-law to Linda Paquette (Jim), Michael Goenak (deceased), and Maryann Chalmers (Brian) and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

As a young man, Huck served as a Navigator on the U.S.S. Edisto in the Navy and then spent over 40 years serving the membership of Brookpark’s UAW Local 1250, first as Committeeman and then as Building Chairman. He was deeply loved by many, and will be sorely missed.

A celebration of his life will be announced and held at a date forthcoming. The family asks in lieu of flowers to consider a donation in Huck's name  to benefit the children at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
