Evelyn A. Baietto

To our beloved mother, born in Mosul, Iraq on the 6th of June, 1928

to Dr. Baba Parhad and Narjis Parhad (nee’ Pira).  The youngest of 10 children, she ventured to the United States on her own and met her husband Albino A. Baietto in Chicago, Illinois.  There, they had four children, Brad, Brent, Brenda and Blake.  Evelyn was a proud and determined mother, expending great energy in assisting her husband take care of an autistic son, while still demonstrating intense compassion for her other children.   A Renaissance woman, Evelyn had varied passions, a ravenous reader, excellent cook and one for enlightened discourse.  She could expound on any topic.  A trendsetter in fashion, Evelyn always looked beautiful, accessorizing herself to meet the dawn of each day.  Throughout her life, she carried herself with a grace and dignity that carried into her advancing years.  Her energy and laughter were infectious, even till the very end.  On November 24th, 2024, Evelyn was gently taken in her sleep by the Good Lord, who played a prominent role in her life.  Mom, you will be greatly missed, but your vivacious personality will never be forgotten!  Your work is done here, may you rest in eternal peace.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, December 27 from 10-11:00 am at Assumption Church, 9183 Broadview Road followed by a mass at 11:00 am
