Eleanor Marie Zaleski

Eleanor Marie Zaleski (nee Jasany), age 95, passed away on December 18, 2022. Beloved wife of Eugene of 55 years (deceased).

Eleanor was devoted to her family of five children; John Waskiewicz, Christine (deceased), Janine Keough, Tom, and Michelle Coccia (Jeff). Cherished grandmother of Anna and Blue. Great-grandmother of Noah and Bailey Rose.

Eleanor and Gene raised their family with a loyal understanding of each other and unwavering support throughout the years. She always made sure the family was enrolled in an activity of their interest in music, art, and sports.  Eleanor was known for her creativity in sewing, baking, and ceramics. Her avid love of rose gardening was unending. She joined her neighborhood friends in supporting each other and teaching the children a variety of crafts and games while enjoying their weekly coffee klatch. She shared everything with anyone fortunate to be her friend. Eleanor was proud of her children and grandchildren and their accomplishments which she regularly highlighted to others.

Eleanor and Gene enjoyed traveling to elder hostels of the south. She would study the towns and people they would be visiting and adopt the name Magnolia from her favorite flower. Her love of southern novels was passionate. Throughout their travels, she and Gene met new friends who became lifelong visitors and shared their passion for the southern states. Family reunions were held in the Sea Islands of South Carolina.

Soft, loving, and doting, she cared for all her friends, family, and caregivers. Her bonds with her faith kept her going strong for her family.  Her love of music inspired everyone to sway with her to the sounds of a waltz, a jitterbug, and a polka. Her elegance and laughter brightened everyone's life.

What a beautiful tremendous giving life she lived.

A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL WILL BE HELD ON Thursday, December 22 at 11:00 AM at Assumption Church, 9183 Broadview Road. VISITATION at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
