Catherine Isabell Hoone

Catherine Isabell (Hughes) Hoone, 87, formerly of Derry and North Fort Myers, Florida, entered into eternal life Sunday, August 18, 2019, in Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights, Ohio. Born on May 13, 1932, in Cokeville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of William Gilson Hughes, Sr. and Margaret Isabel (Plowman) Hughes.  A 1950 graduate of Derry High School, Mrs. Hoone was employed by Derry Area School District and by Jeannette Glass in Pennsylvania and by K-Mart in North Fort Myers, Florida.  In her lifetime, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and doing ceramics.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Ralph W. Hoone; her brother William Gilson Hughes, Jr.; and her sister-in-law Clara (Dixon) Hughes.  She is survived by her children: Vickie Sattler of Melbourne, Florida, Bruce Hensel of Derry, Norma Kudla (Thomas) of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, and Todd Hensel (Summer) of Jupiter, Florida.  She is also survived by her brother David Clyde Hughes (Judy) of Derry; her sister Peggy O’Hara (William) of Latrobe, her sister-in-law Celia (Brant) Hughes of Derry; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; as well as foster son, Edward Downey. “No more worries, no more fears, no more struggles, no more tears.” At Mrs. Hoone’s request, there will be no viewing.  Internment in Westmoreland Memorial Park will be private with Rev.
