August “Gus” Alai, lost his battle to ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease on December 1, 2010. Gus and Darlene (nee Bowling) are the parents of the following children: August Dino (Michelle), Dina (Michael) Gabor, Tony (Carolyn), Sam (Terry), and Jeff (Connie). Grandfather of Dina, Erica, Michael, Erin, Jason, Alicia, Amanda, Sammy, Celeste, Dino, Victoria, Abagael, Sebreena and Brandi. Great grandfather of Anthony, Caleb, Dominick, McKenna, Jacob and Tyler. Brother of Louise (Jimmy-deceased) Carbone, Andy (Arlene), Mario, Dora (Danny-deceased) Petrich and Ronnie (deceased). Beloved uncle and great uncle. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 6 at 9:30 AM at St. Patrick Church, 3602 Bridge Avenue. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Donald A. Faulhaber Funeral Home, 7915 Broadview Road (at Sprague) on Sunday from 2-8 PM.
