Mary Keller (nee Masarik), Our beautiful mother passed peacefully at Pine Valley Care Center, where she found much love from the nurses and aids, Holly, Kristen, Natalie, Ken, Mary and Kimberly to name a few. Mary grew up in a tough Cleveland neighborhood where she protected her brothers and sisters. Nicknamed ICE for her ability to chase down a 50 LB block of ice as it fell from the wheel barrel, slid down the street and carry it up the stairs to the refrigerator. Mom was granted a scholastic scholarship for her English prowess however she had to sacrifice the education to help raise many of her seven siblings. Mary met her future husband, a dashingly handsome young man named Walter Keller at the church roller skating social. While Dad went to fight the war Mom honed her interior decorating skills at the May Company downtown producing window displays. After the war and thru the 1960's Mary gave birth to 6 rabble rouser children. When the kids got out of line our Mom was known to cook a mean paprikash with one hand and wield the wooden spoon in the other right on our bottoms. Tough love in the Keller household. Our mother was a seniors tennis champion and played with Lisa in the mother daughter championships at the U. S. Open. Mom's infectious laugh brightened up many of our aging neighbors whom she cared for as they grew old. Mom never said a cross word about anyone and helped everyone. As Mom grew more frail the neighbors such as Al and Shirley took care of our wonderful mother. We want to thank anyone and everyone that cared for our Mom in her time of need. Right now Mom is telling God how to organize the clouds and care for his sheep. She will always be our Top Sergeant!
