Lawrence Wengatz 88, passed away Monday September 30, 2013. Born in Parma, Ohio on October 5, 1924 to the late Fredrick and Agnes (Pfleging) Wengatz who preceded him in death. Lawrence’s wife, Joyce (Johnson) and one brother Norman Wengatz also preceded him in death. Lawrence was a graduate of Parma Schaaf High School and Cleveland Trade School. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Corps as an Airplane Mechanic and a member of American Legion post 193. Lawrence served as a dedicated craftsman for over 65 years in the Cleveland Carpenter Unions. He was a past Director of the Cuyahoga County Fair Board. He was a dedicated Mason and a 50 year member of Parkside Lodge #736 and an Honorary member of Mantua Lodge #533. Lawrence was a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Right-Valley of Cleveland. He is survived by his two sons Neal (a Widows Son) and Richard (Dona) Wengatz, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday October 11, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00pm at the Donald A. Faulhaber Funeral Home, 7915 Broadview Rd (at Sprague) where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:00pm. His Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday October 12, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment Brooklyn Hts. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parma South Presbyterian Church endowment fund, 6155 Pearl Rd. Parma Hts. Ohio 44130 In Mr. Lawrence Wengatz’s memory.
